Art. 1. Appellation - The Korean National Committee of Historical Sciences shall be the official appellation (abridged in the following as Korean National Committee).

Art. 2. Objectives - The Korean National Committee in accordance with the purport described in the constitution of the International Committee of Historical Sciences (CISH: Le Comité international des Sciences historiques) will carry out the undertakings necessary for the development of historical studies through world-wide exchange among historians.

Art. 3. Composition - The Korean National Committee shall be composed of less than 25 members: representatives of historical societies and individual historians with outstanding accomplishments.

Art. 4. Election of Members - The members shall be elected by the Board upon the recommendation of President and approved ex post facto by the General Assembly.

Art. 5. Tenure of Membership - The tenure of members lasts 5 years, and it may be extended, with the exception of those representing historical societies whose membership lasts as long as his (or her) own tenure pertaining to that society.

Art. 6. Officers - President shall be elected by the Board of the Korean National Committee, and approved ex post facto by the General Assembly. Vice-Presidents and assessor members shall be elected by the Board upon the recommendation of President, and approved ex post facto by the General Assembly. Secretary General shall be appointed by President. The tenure of secretariat lasts 3 years, which may be extended.

Art. 7. Board of the Committee - The Board of the Korean National Committee shall consist of President, Vice-Presidents, Assessor Members, and Secretary-General.
  The Board shall deal with the affairs concerning the organization of the Korean National Committee, management of its major projects, and decisions on the matters delegated by the General Assembly.

Art. 8. General Assembly - The General Assembly shall consist of all members. A regular session shall be convened in every December, and an extraordinary session shall be proposed by the President in case of necessity.

Art. 9. Voting - A quorum of every meeting including the General Assembly and the Board shall consist of more than half of constituent members, and a proposal shall be approved by a vote of more than half of members present.

Art. 10. President - President shall represent the Korean National Committee and supervise the matters pertaining to the Committee. He shall summon the Board and preside over its meetings as chairman. In case President should be unable to carry out his duty, one of Vice-Presidents in order of seniority shall stand proxy for President.

Art. 11. Secretary General - Secretary General shall supervise, under the directions of President, all practical affairs pertaining to the Korean National Committee. He shall prepare the agenda of various meetings, supervise academic activities and publications, and be responsible for management of finances.

Art. 12. Counselors - The Korean National Committee shall have Counselors, who may be present without vote at the meetings of the Board and the General Assembly.

Art. 13. Finances - Financing of the Korean National Committee shall be appropriated by annual dues, contributions, revenue and other subventions.

Art. 14. By-laws - Matters concerning the functioning of the Korean National Committee not herein dealt with shall be regulated by conventionalism in similar cases.
